Preowned LOUIS VUITTON Floral Canwan Keepall Bandouliere 50 Canvas x Leather Black & Yellow | Luxe Again Maison

LOUIS VUITTON Floral Canwan Keepall Bandouliere 50 Canvas x Leather Black & Yellow

$2,500.00 AUD

Pre-owned LOUIS VUITTON Floral Canwan Keepall Bandouliere 50 Canvas x Leather Black & Yellow

This Louis Vuitton Keepall Bandoulière 50 in black and yellow floral canvas with leather trim presents beautifully throughout, showing only gentle signs of use consistent with light, careful handling.

The canvas — the defining element of any printed Keepall and the hardest to preserve — is entirely free of marks and stains, with the floral motif crisp and unfaded across the body. The golden brass hardware shows only slight hairline scratching, visible on close inspection and typical of ordinary use; the zips run smoothly and the closure functions perfectly. The leather base displays faint scuff marks, the natural result of the bag being set down over time and confined to the underside where it is least visible in wear.

The interior is clean and completely free of marks and stains. Structure, shape and stitching are all sound throughout.

Please examine all photos carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description.

Please note: colour may appear different in photos and in person due to lighting and screen settings; be mindful of this when assessing the shade.

Why We Love

The bag that invented modern travel

The Keepall was born in 1930, and it changed what luggage was allowed to be. Until Gaston-Louis Vuitton designed it, travel meant trunks — rigid, heavy, requiring porters, built for ocean liners and railway carriages. The Keepall proposed something radical: a soft bag that could be packed, squashed, carried by one person, and folded flat when empty. The name says the entire brief out loud. It was designed for a world that had just started moving faster, and nearly a century later it is still the template every weekend bag on earth is imitating.

That heritage is the reason a Keepall never looks like a fashion object, even in a printed edition. The shape is functional first — the long barrel body, the double zip that opens the full length, the rolled handles set close together so the bag hangs naturally at your side. It looks correct in an airport, correct in the boot of a car, correct thrown on a hotel bed. There is no version of a life in which this bag looks out of place.

Why the 50, and why Bandoulière

The Keepall comes in several sizes and the 50 is the one people who travel actually choose. The 45 is neat but disciplined; the 55 and 60 are proper luggage and start to feel like commitment. The 50 sits precisely in between — enough room for three or four days packed properly, still manageable through a terminal, and generally the size that airlines accept without conversation. It's also the size that works as an oversized everyday bag: gym kit, laptop and a change of clothes, or the entire contents of a Saturday.

Bandoulière is the detail that makes it modern. The removable, adjustable shoulder strap converts the bag from a hand-carry to a crossbody, which matters enormously the moment you're holding a boarding pass, a coffee and a phone at the same time. Vintage Keepalls without the strap are lovely; the Bandoulière versions are the ones people actually use, and the market has priced that difference in for years.

The print, and the case for a limited edition

The permanent Keepall in classic Monogram is one of the most produced luxury bags in existence — beautiful, but everywhere. A printed edition changes the equation entirely. Black canvas with a yellow floral motif is a genuinely striking combination: the black grounds it and keeps it wearable, while the yellow does the work of making it unmistakable from a distance. It reads as considered rather than novelty, which is a difficult balance for any print to strike.

Printed and seasonal Keepalls are produced for a defined window and then never again. Unlike the classic Monogram, they cannot be replaced with a trip to the boutique — the only market is the secondary one, and the supply is fixed and slowly shrinking as pieces are lost, damaged or absorbed into permanent collections. This is the structural reason limited-edition Keepalls have consistently outperformed their standard-issue siblings on resale, and why collectors watch for them specifically.

There's also the practical argument nobody mentions: a distinctive Keepall is far easier to spot on a baggage carousel or in an overhead bin, and considerably harder for someone else to walk off with by accident.

Condition is the whole argument on a printed canvas

On a printed Keepall, the canvas is the asset. Print pieces are the least forgiving items in the house's catalogue — a stain, a scuff through the motif or a rub at the base corners is effectively permanent and immediately visible against a graphic surface. Which is exactly why this one is worth paying attention to: the canvas is free of marks and stains, and the interior is equally clean. That is not the norm for a travel bag approaching two decades old, and it points to a piece that was used thoughtfully and stored properly rather than thrown in a car boot.

The wear that is present is entirely on the hardware — hairline scratches and light oxidisation on the brass. Oxidisation is not damage; it's the natural darkening that untreated brass develops over time, and a great many collectors actively prefer the warmth it lends to a bag of this age. It's the difference between a bag that has lived and a bag that has been damaged, and this is firmly the former.

Why this one

A France-made 2007 Keepall Bandoulière 50 in a limited printed canvas that will never be produced again, with the print itself clean and unmarked, the interior spotless, the strap included, and the only wear being the kind that reads as character. It's a genuinely genderless bag, it works for travel and for daily use, and it belongs to the one Louis Vuitton silhouette that has never had a moment of being out of fashion since 1930 — because it was never really in fashion to begin with. It was just right.
